Hispanic Heritage Month takes place Sept. 15 to Oct.15 to celebrate and explore the impact Hispanics and Latinos have had on the United States. It started in 1968 as Hispanic Heritage Week under President Lyndon Johnson. President Ronald Reagan later expanded it to a 30-day period in 1988. It was established into law on Aug. 17, 1988. Hispanics and Latinos contribute to the U.S through music, food, jobs, and entertainment. The photos below were taken recently at a local Hispanic Heritage Festival.
