Congratulations to the Advanced Computer Applications Students on obtaining their Microsoft Office Specialist Industry Certifications. Many students in Advanced Computer Applications at West obtained all three industry certifications in 2019 Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint this semester. This allows them to be certified to become Microsoft Office Associates and employable in many industries. Advanced Computer Apps also provides Honors level credits to students who pass at least one certification. Students will also graduate with distinction after completing at least one industry certification as long as they have a minimum of a 3.0 GPA.
The entire class at West ranks 3rd in the state of Tennessee for the highest scores in Microsoft Word. Bianca Sanchez Ruiz, Senior at West, scored a perfect score of 1000 on the Microsoft Word International Exam. She expresses, “I think this class provides more opportunities for jobs and is an excellent class to take if you are unsure of what career path to choose.”
Matthew Cartwright, also a Senior at West, was one of the students who completed all three industry certifications to become a Micrsosoft Associate. Cartwright shares, “It’s a relatively easy class that’s very helpful for many jobs and can even earn you more money in the future because of industry certifications. You can also graduate with distinction if you pass the certifications.”
Once again, congratulations to all the students for their hard work and accomplishments.
