Due to COVID causing West High to go to virtual schooling last year, the Film Club had to shut down to prevent spread of the virus and to support social distancing. But have no fear, the Film Club is back this year! The Film Club is a club in which students get together to perform shows and sketches for people to enjoy. Their goal is to bring joy and laughter to what has been a rough pandemic. They even have a slogan, which is “Come laugh with us.”
The Film Club will be doing one show every two to three weeks. They meet every Tuesday from 3:00-3:30 to rehearse, and then they meet on Friday from 3:00-4:00 to film their sketches. Their first show will be on Friday, Nov. 19, and there will even be a surprise guest star. They are even looking for student musical acts to perform on one of their shows, so if you are interested, talk to Mr. Todd.
Justin Belger is a member of the Film Club, and he shared that he likes “to be able to spend time with my friends, and have fun filming funny sketches. “Layla Ridley is another one of the Film Club’s members, and she added “I wanted something fun and interesting to do after school, and this club is definitely it.” If one is interested in joining Film Club, all you have to do is go to Mr. Todd’s room during TNN.
