How Fine Arts Students Transform West High with Creativity and Talent

The first ever Morristown West High Fine Arts Gala took place Monday April 14, Many talented students displayed works that are indicative of what is learned throughout the courses. Some are solo works such are found in the Visual Arts,Digital Arts and Design and others are group performances the likes are found in Band, Choir and Theater.

Mr. Box the Band teacher states “I'm always proud of their hard work and it's rewarding to have them perform. It shows everyone their hard work and dedication to their craft. It also displays their ability to work together as a group and individual. Much like an intricate piece of clockwork, instrumental music depends on every individual to perform their job at just the right time, else it falls apart.” The Band performed a piece from their concert on March 20 and two other pieces that were prepared specifically for this concert.

This was an opportunity to showcase students' talents to the community.

Mrs. Gatlin the Digital Arts and Design teacher says “ I hope we can gain enough awareness to continue this annually.” Teachers hope that the art show inspires others to explore and get involved with their artistic side either by joining a class or perhaps they decide to attend some of our performances.
