Gage Livesay, junior at West High, placed first in the 10th grade National Beta science competition in Nashville, TN over the summer. In honor of his recent victory, a party was thrown on Friday, Aug. 26. with TN Commissioner of Education, Penny Schwin, presenting him with the award. The Superintendent of Hamblen County Schools, General Arnold Bunch, as well as other members of the central office staff were also in attendance. Livesay stated, “science comes naturally to him and he will absolutely compete next year”
