In Nick Morgan’s 18 years of teaching, he has received West High teacher of the year twice. He got it once in 2009-2010, and he was named it just recently. This would be his eighteenth year teaching. Morgan stated, “My favorite part of teaching is when a student realizes they have accomplished something that they have previously struggled with.” He is not sure why he got chosen, but he is very honored.
Morgan’s favorite thing about West is the culture of growth and high expectations. If he was not chosen, then he would not know who to choose because he is constantly learning from his peers at West daily. One thing he finds challenging about teaching is the amount of time it requires can be overwhelming. West Side Story congratulates Morgan for being selected teacher of the year.
