Morristown's Guatemalan Residents Celebrate Their Independence

On Sept. 15, 1821, Guatemala was able to gain its independence from Spain and Mexico, letting Guatemala become its own country. From then on, Guatemala celebrated its independence on every 15th of September, and the Guatemalan residents of Morristown were no different as they started planning something.

On Sept. 16, a small parade was held in honor of their independence, in which cars with Guatemala flags, blue and white balloons, and other things used to represent their country pass by Main street. They would then pass by East and finally stop at Tienda Dona Rosa, where they celebrated with a party.
