The Morristown Speech and Debate Team competed at the Austin East Roadrunner Invitational tournament on Oct. 30. This tournament was hosted by Austin East Magnet High School in Knoxville, Tennessee. This competition was held completely asynchronous, with the exception of Public Forum Debate. In total, the team had 115 entries and 16 competitors placed in final rounds.
Cayden Keltgen placed 1st in Storytelling and Impromptu Speaking, 2nd in Pantomime and 2nd in Impromptu Improv (IDA) with his partner, Damon Booth.
Rylee Linkous placed 1st in Dramatic Interpretation, 2nd in Prose, 5th in Program Oral Interpretation, and 6th in Solo Acting.
Faith Hodge placed 2nd in Duo Interpretation with her partner, Delaney Miksa. Hodge also placed 5th in Impromptu Speaking and Storytelling and 6th in Humorous Interpretation.
Miksa placed 2nd in Duo Interpretation with her partner, Hodge. She also placed 3rd in Program Oral Interpretation and 4th in Original Oratory.
Booth placed 2nd in Impromptu Improv (IDA) with his partner, Keltgen.
Kimber Strumski placed 2nd in Humorous Interpretation and Original Oratory, 4th in Prose, and 6th in Impromptu Speaking. Strumski also placed 4th in Impromptu Improv (IDA) with her partner, Lorna Baxley
Baxley placed 2nd in Public Forum Debate with her partner, Noah Heissler. Baxley also placed 4th in Impromptu Improv (IDA) with her partner, Strumski.
Heissler placed 2nd in Public Forum Debate with his partner, Baxley
Emma Whittaker placed 3rd in Informative Speaking and 4th in Impromptu Speaking.
Tristan Lindsey placed 3rd in Storytelling.
Alexie Cowan placed 5th in Humorous Interpretation.
Isabella Picardi placed 5th in Informative Speaking.
Maya Hill placed 6th in Informative Speaking.
Aarya Patel placed 6th in Original Oratory.
