The Morristown West volleyball team had a hard earned first win of the year. They opened their season with none other than Jefferson County. The rivalry started with a big 5 set win for Morristown West. They were all close sets as Jeff Co. won two sets 25-19 and 25-23 after closing that set with a 7-2 run. Morristown west won three sets; 25-20, 25-18, and 15-9, to take the win in the series.
Morristown West dig leaders were; Halyn Long 28, Carly McKenna 20, Nina Lovelace 15, Katie Wallin 14, and Faith Heskett and Nina Hodges with 10 each.
Morristown West were led by; Katie Wallin 61 assists, Nina Hodges 21 Kills, Kendall Mattison 20 kills, Rebecca Nobles 14 kills, and Carly McKenna’s 12.
Taylor Simmons and Nina Hodges each had 7 blocks to go along with Mattisons 6.
Morristown West also had 11 aces led by, Halyn Long 4, and Wallin and Mattison each with 3.
