Reflecting on Gratitudes for Thanksgiving

Things I am thankful for

It is that time of the year where we express our thankfulness in our lives closely. It is the time to express our gratitude towards things we take for granted. I am thankful for being alive and having a roof over my head. I am thankful for the education I received. I am thankful for the food I am able to eat. I am thankful for the opportunity to write articles for our newspaper staff at the school. I am thankful for the people who read my articles. I am thankful for all that life has offered for me. I am extremely thankful for my family!

My family is so caring in everything they do. They respect me and give me great amounts of love in their actions. They show me how to be a better person and listen to me when I need someone to listen to me. My family is so loving, and everyday, they show me what a loving family looks like.

Most of all, I am thankful for my significant other. I don’t say it enough and I do not think I could express it enough , but I am truly grateful for having him. To me, he is what represents love and happiness to me. I thank God, everyday, for putting my significant other in my life. It feels as if he has filled an empty hole in my heart each moment we spend together. He always pushes me to grow more as a person, and he brings out my confidence. He has always been a constant support and a big pillar of strength for me. He opened my eyes and helped me change my perspective on the world. Most importantly, he has given me all the love I could ever ask for through his words and actions.

As I have gotten older, Thanksgiving has easily become one of my favorite holidays to celebrate. Thanksgiving is an important holiday in Present-day American culture. People throughout the United States take time to make this holiday memorable with happy celebration. It’s a holiday that allows us to relax, eat food, share stories, and appreciate all the people we love in our lives. It’s a wonderful holiday that I wish was more than one day.

Happy Thanksgiving, from the West Side Story staff to our readers!
