Senior Superlatives: Most Likely to go Pro Messer, Rosen

The West High Seniors have all voted for Senior Superlative. Senior Superlative is a prompt voting based system, where the seniors can vote for a corresponding student for that title. For example, the “Most likely to go Pro” the seniors who voted, chose Aubrie Messer and John Michael Rosen. These two students' athletic careers at West High backs up the choice of their title


The two seniors that have been selected for this superlative, have played sports almost their entire lives. They are both well known within the school about their athletic abilities and school spirit. Messer and Rosen represent West High’s athletics program very well, and both have promising futures for at least one of their sports. Messer plays Softball, Basketball, and Volleyball. Rosen plays Football and Basketball.


Aubrie Messer is a student athlete who plays Basketball, Softball, and Volleyball. Messer commented, ‘I got put into all of my sports at a very young age and have always just loved playing all three of them.” Messer exclaimed, “I love volleyball because it makes me very confident, and it is my favorite sport. What I love most about softball would be the bonds I have with not only my teammates but also the coaches. What I like most about basketball is being able to have the sport with my best friend Delaney since we were little.” Messer expresses her love for all three of the sports she plays. Messer is not in any clubs, but one out of school club she is in, is a volleyball club for her travel team. Messer expresses, “I like to play club volleyball for my travel team. I also like to go shopping and spend time at home.” Messer takes inspiration from a professional volleyball player. Messer states, “Lexi Rodriguez, because she played volleyball at Nebraska and that has always been my dream. She is just a very inspiring person being 5’6 and being a pro volleyball player.” 


Messer and Rosen both have said that they have played their sports since they were children. They have also been encouraged by their parents to play the sports that they cherish and love so dearly. When it comes to their games, both students show up and give it their very best to win for their team.


John Michael Rosen also won “Most likely to go Pro”. He has been offered a walkon position and signed to the University of Tennessee football team. Rosen implies, “My plan is to play collegially at University of Tennessee. Then after college, I want to go chase a career in the NFL.” Rosen takes inspiration from his father.  Rosen explains, “My dad inspired me the most about playing football because he introduced it to me at a very young age. And if he could have so much love and passion about a sport. then maybe I could too.” Rosen is well known among his classmates for his athletic performance but also for the person that he is. Rosen comments, “It was one of the most fun and most competitive moments in my athletic career.” Rosen spends a lot of his time outdoors. Rosen expresses, “I love to hunt, fish, eat good food, and hangout with friends.” West High is proud of these students and other athletes at West High.
