The Morristown West Speech and Debate team traveled to Northeast Community College in Johnson City to compete in the Tennessee State Speech and Debate Tournament. In Duo Interpretation Rylee Linkous and Cayden Keltgen got 2nd in the state, the team of Faith Hodge and Emma Whittaker got 3rd in Duet Acting, Aarya Patel got 5th in Informative Speaking, Kimber Strumski got 5th in Humours Interpretation, Maya Hill got 4th in Poetry, in POI Abigail Snider got 2nd and Delaney Miksa got 1st, and in Solo Acting Kai Webb got 6th. For group events, the girls interpretation-including Kimber Strumski, Keana Roberts, Abigail Snider, Maggie Puragason, Jocelyn Valdez, and Aarya Patel placed 2nd in the state, as well as the One Act cast including Jeffery Glover, Rylee Linkous, Cayden Keltgen, Delaney Miksa, and Richard Robas with Joseph Parrott and Holton Smith working lights, sounds, and helping with the set getting 2nd. Jeffery Glover and Delaney Miska were nominated for All Star Cast and Cayden Keltgen got Best Actor in the State of Tennessee.
Also, Kimber Strumski qualified for the National Tournament this summer in Louisville, Ky and Abigail Snider broke to semi finals.
