Today, the Trojan Nation welcomed the Medic Blood Drive. There is an on-going competition between West and East over which school can donate the most blood. The winning school will be awarded a trophy during half-time at the East vs. West game this Friday Aug. 23. This competition has been going on for decades.
All blood donated by students and faculty will be locally donated to over 26 hospitals. Each person who donates saves three lives. One pint of blood has the ability to save three people's lives. Trojan nation taking a part in the blood drive means students are saving multiple lives. But to be able to donate students must have been 16 or older. Also, taking part in the blood drive does come with its fair share of personal benefits, the blood donators were granted with a Chick-fil-a gift card, a Pelican's gift card, a Texas Roadhouse gift card, a Medic Blood Drive t-shirt, and put into a raffle to win free tickets to see Morgan Wallen.
