West Attends a Fin-tastic Talent Show

Take off your square pants and grab your clarinet and heed your way to the West High Talent Show. With a special arrangement with our good friends Spongebob and Patrick. Today during third period we all waltzed our way down to the auditorium and to our surprise we locked eyes with, not just an auditorium, but an underwater stage set for a splash of an array of talent to jump out and cover us in its glory.

The show started off with a serenade from Emma Miracle, singing a song called “Money.” She tooted her horn belting out the tune to the entire student body.

Next, grab some tissues and prepare for this underwater oasis to become more of an under-tear oasis; Josh Fosbenner played guitar and sang “My First Heartbreak.” His performance was a real gut-wrencher.

Furthermore, cast your line and reel in Jacob Bass with his electric guitar in hand. Bass presented his extreme talent to the audience playing a spectacular solo, even going further than that and playing the ending of his solo BEHIND HIS HEAD.

This is not Massachusetts but welcome to the stage Caroline Massa and Kamarie Morris performing “Love is an Open Door” from Frozen.

Moreover, the lights dimmed and the under the sea vibe of the auditorium vanished and we were all transported to the honky tonk to listen to Caleb Greene and his grandfather play guitar and sing “Huntin’, Fishin’, and Lovin’ Every day.”

And.. Bam were back to being in the original underwater oasis from before, and were shown a preview of West High’s personal play: “Jersey Boys” starring Taiden Colley, Richard Robas, Sebastian Ekholm, and Andrew Ezell. The boys lined up in their shiny red tuxedos and sang as a group, Beggin’, Sheri, Big Girls Don’t Cry, Walk Like A Man, to the audience and left with a standing ovation.

Khloe Williams sang “Love in the dark”  with a huge applause.

Dun Dun Dun, here comes Bella Picardi with her grand piano, she filled the room with the beautiful sounds of ‘Runaway,’ by Kanye West. After witnessing this grand performance, we were met with Richard Robas, performing “Santa Fe” from the musical “Newsies.”

Robas left with a bang and swapped places with Andrea Rico, playing her flute to the song “Rondo across countless kalpas,” first it was Squidward and now its Rico, welcome to the wind instrument club!

We witnessed a lot of talent overflowing the room, but we were not even done yet. Now Khloe Williams arrived on stage and blessed the student body’s ears with the sound of her singing “Love in the dark.”

The pipes were ringing with this one, for our final performance, Isaiah Fanney and Carlos Granados were welcomed to the stage with an acoustic guitar and two chairs and wooed the school with the sounds of their voices  performing “Best Part.”

Congratulations to first place winners, Isaiah Fanney and Carlos Granados, who won $250. Caleb Green, was awarded second place for $150. Last Khloe Williams received $50 for third place. All contestants did an outstanding job with memorable performances.
