Beta Club meets the first Tuesday of every month. Students who maintain a 3.5 G.P.A. or higher are invited to become members. Members are required to uphold dignity and volunteer a minimum of 10 community service hours per year. Members are also able to purchase a Beta chord to wear at graduation. The sponsors are Mrs. Nicole Owens and Mrs. Andrea Wice.
West's Beta Club will compete at the Nationals Convention this summer in Savannah, Georgia beginning June 14. The club is currently collecting donations from businesses for scholarships. Businesses may also have their name published on the back of the Beta t-shirts. The club competes at the state level every November in Nashville.
Starting April 8, Beta members can run for school officers. New officers will be sworn in May 7. President, Vice President, Co-Historians, Secretary, and Social Media Manager are needed. Officer information can be found on Google Classroom. Applications will be posted on the Beta Boards on April 8th and will be due April 16.
New freshmen Beta members were inducted yesterday after the club meeting. Invitations for sophomores through seniors will be sent out in the Fall.
The next West High Beta meeting will be May 7 at 3:05 p.m. in the library. This will be our their last meeting of the school year. Officers will be sworn in at that time.
