Every year, West High does an annual Thanksgiving drive. West High donated over 1,200 dollars to Central Services to purchase food for their pantry and stock homes for Thanksgiving this holiday. Today, on Nov. 22, 56 boxes of food were prepared and loaded on a truck in addition to money donated. This was enough to feed 84 families this Thanksgiving. Mr. Jeff Kinsler, West High principal stated, "This warms my heart." Ashley Hux, director of Central Services, expressed that these donations will go a long way.
Moreover, sports teams, clubs, and classrooms raised funds and gathered food to present to Hux. Students then boxed the food and loaded the Central Services truck. This school-wide drive has been carried on over decades. Kinsler as well as many other faculty members helped all the students that participated see the action of being a part of such a humbling event. As a community, the Trojan Nation truly came together today. Kamora Hunt from the West Side Story newspaper states, "As the editor of West Side Story, I am so grateful that my class contributed so much to this drive to help others." Adriana, officer of FBLA declares, "I am thankful for being a part of a school that helps a community."
