Mrs. Meghan Marshall, a newly appointed Freshman English 1 teacher at West High, says she hopes to bring a love for storytelling to West High because there is so much students can take from their own lives and connect it with what they are learning, or in her case, teaching.

Marshall was hired this summer after her very close friend encouraged her to apply, telling Marshall, “It’s fun and fast-paced.” She has a background

in teaching middle school for almost ten years and figured she’d give high school a try. Marshall has two small children and her husband’s family is from Morristown, so she has a lot of his family nearby. She is originally from Gainesville, Florida -GO GATORS!- and graduated from Lee University in 2011.

From another point of view, one of her students claimed her favorite part of Marshall’s class is the stories they get to read. After only a week, Marshall says her favorite thing about West high is the positivity and encouraging atmosphere the staff creates.
