West High students confide what they are most thankful for

Students at West High contemplated what they are most thankful for this Thanksgiving season. The majority of students out of 43 decided that they were most thankful for their family. One individual confided that their mom is the person they are most thankful for because, “she has always got us through hard times and never fails to put a smile on my face.”

Furthermore, almost 80 percent of students reported that they were most thankful for their friends. An attendant of West High stated, “I’m most thankful for my friends because they have been more of a family to me than my real family. They make me feel appreciated and love me unconditionally.”

Many students are grateful to live in a free country. Yelyzaveta Pinchuk stated, “I am thankful that last year I had the chance to move to the United States. I didn’t see my future in Russia or Ukraine, so I am very happy that I have had such a great opportunity to change my life and my future. It has given me a lot of experience.” Another individual pointed out that, “People are fighting to protect our freedoms that many people take for granted.”

Other attendants of West High are most thankful for their pets. One student praised that, “I am most thankful for my dog, Gen. He is always there for me and is always happy to see me.” Some individuals made known that they are grateful for technology, school, and food. A student excitedly shared that they are most thankful for chicken fettuccine and garlic bread.
