West's tennis faces East at Frank Lorino Park

With newly constructed courts and a fierce wind, West tennis faced cross town rival East in their yearly tennis match April 17 at Frank Lorino Park. General Arnold Bunch, superintendent and a crowd came to support the Hamblen opponents. Bowlin, said "Tennis participation is picking up in Morristown, and we are excited to have a large turnout."



Andreja Kyle-Taylor, Lakin Burnside, Adam Turner, East Coach Parker Ashford, Hamblen County Superintendent Arnie Bunch, West Coach Ron Bowlin, Cory Holtmann, Lexi Shepard, Taylor Dewald, Aashvi Patel and Lexi Moore gather in between double's matches at Frank Lorino Park.


The overall outcome did not fair well for West. However, Allie Moore and partner Peyton Winter beat opponents Jocelyn Betancourt and Lakin Burnside 8-2. Another West win went to West's Bradley Greene and Noah Stapleton who beat Diego Garcia and Ayden Stuffel 8-4.


West will pickup their next match this Thursday April 20 at Sevier County. Overall, their record is 3-6. Coach Ron Bowlin is the head coach for West, and Coach Parker Ashford is the East coach.


West's Brance Matthews, Eli Shoun, Melanie Gal, and Sami Barber play against East Hurricanes in a tennis match Monday April 17.
