Ashli Collins is joining the West High staff this year. Collins was an occupational therapist before she decided that she wanted to be a health science teacher. Collins remarked “I wanted to go into teaching because I genuinely wanted to develop relationships with students and make a difference in their lives. I have always desired to make a positive impact in the lives of others, and with teaching I have the opportunity to facilitate academic as well as personal growth in students.” Collins shared “I think West High is a special place to be. I have met students as well as staff that have made me feel right at home, and have already started to develop strong bonds with them. I am excited to see what this year has in store.”
Outside of school, Collins likes to play volleyball and softball, but she also likes being outside and hanging out with family and friends. Collins was asked if she had any pets, she replied with “Not yet. However, my husband and I would like to have two dogs in the near future.”
West High is proud to welcome Ashli Collins to the Trojan Nation family.
