Wrestling Team strikes big at Regional Competition



Over the weekend, the Trojan Nation’s wrestling team earned promising placements at a regional competition hosted at Daniel Boone. Eight schools competed at the regional competition, including East High. Congratulations to the following students who competed for their placement. They will continue forward into the sectional championships, hosted in Knoxville, for a chance to compete at state finals. The Trojan Nation wishes the competitors good luck.


Tavion Rudolph (3rd place)

Ian Carr (4th place)

Gage Jordan (2nd place)

Brodey Huskey (2nd place)


Competitors expressed their thoughts on their victories. Jordan, junior, wrestled three times. He said, “I could have done better.” Overall, he shared that he was “pleased with the team’s performance.” Rudolph, sophomore, was ecstatic about his placement due to it being his first year competing.
